Three species of Lauxaniid flies, Homoneura interstincta (Fallen, 1820), Minettia martineki Ceianu, 1991 and Pachycerina pulchra (Loew, 1850) are recorded as new to Slovak republic. Species Neoparoecus simplicipes Yarom, 1991 is recorded as new to Austria.

Slovak fauna of family Lauxaniidae is fairly well-known. Comprehensive faunistic data and checklist are given in Diptera Slovenska II (Martínek 1986). Together with recent contributions (Dvořáková & Roháček 2009; Semelabuer & Kozánek 2009) the number of known lauxaniids reaches 68 species (Dvořáková & Gaimari 2009). During faunistic research three species were found previously not recorded from Slovakia. One species was recorded as a new to Austria.

Material was obtained by sweeping net during vegetation seasons 2010 and 2011. Flies were caught in various types of habitats mainly in western and northern parts of Slovakia. For determination was used key of Shatalkin (2000) in cooperation with its English translation (Schacht et al. 2004) and revision of Merz (2003). Material is fixed in alcohol and deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Slovak academy of Sciences. The nomenclature follows Fauna Europaea (Merz 2010) except genus name Paroecus Becker, 1895, which was proposed to be a homonym and was replaced by name Neoparoecus Özdikmen & Merz 2006 (Özdikmen & Merz 2006).

Homoneura interstincta (Fallen, 1820) is known from Sweden, Denmark, France, Switzerland and Italy (Merz 2010). Species was misidentified in the past for species described as Homoneura mediospinoza Merz 2003. Three males and six females were caught on the coast of dead river channel in Danube floodplain forests near Bodíky village on 25.5.2011 (Podunajská rovina, 8171).

Minettia martineki Ceianu, 1991 is recently known from Italy, Romania and Switzerland (Merz 2010), Hungary (Papp 2003) and from Transcaucasia (Shatalkin 2000). Specimens are habitually unrecognisable from very common holarctic species Minettia longipennis (Fabricius 1794), though males differ clearly in the structure of terminalia. One male was caught at the bottom of former pond near Trnavské rybníky protected area on 11.7.2010 (Trnavská pahorkatina, 7671). Three males were cought in Danube floodplain forests near Bodíky village on 31.5.2011(Podunajská rovina, 8171).

Neoparoecus simplicipes Yarom, 1991 is known from Hungary, Ukraine and Kazakhstan (Shatalkin 2000). Two males of these species were acquired during 1.-4.7.2010 in vineyards of Feuersbrunn, Austria. Vineyards were situated on loes with scattered trees and bushes. As N. simplicipes occurs also in Hungary, we cannot exclude presence of this species from the south western part of Slovakia.

Pachycerina pulchra (Loew, 1850) is a species with Palearctic distribution (Shatalkin 2000). It is known from all neighbour countries of Slovakia (Merz 2010). First find from the territory of Slovakia comes from reservations Mníchova úboč and Kyseľová on 11.5.1998 and 10.6.1998 (Malé Karpaty: Brezová pod Bradlom, 7371). Unfortunately, all specimens seem to be lost. Misidentification is improbable, as it can be easily recognised from more common Pachycerina seticornis (Fallén, 1820). One female was caught on 10.5.2010 in a wetland near Rohožník (Borská nížina, 7569). One male was caught directly in area of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava on 27.3.2011 (Malé Karpaty, 7868).
